Pakistan's tour of England: Defeat in T20 series after ODIs - Today GD News

KARACHI; The Pakistan team's tour of England has come to an end. After a whitewash at the hands of unknown English players in the ODI series, the Green Shirts also suffered a two-one defeat in the T20 series.

In the third and final match of the T20 series, the Pakistani team did well, but in the last over, the host team scored a goal and won the match by three wickets and won the match by two wickets in series one.

If the Pakistan cricket team had won the last match of the tour, millions of Pakistanis would have received the best gift of Eid. The second tour would have boosted the confidence of the Green Shirts before the West Indies, where they have to play Test matches as well as T20 matches. ۔

Better performance of the English team In the decisive battle of the series played at Old Trafford, Pakistan batted first and scored 154 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, the English team took full advantage of the home ground and achieved the target in the last over of the innings at a loss of seven wickets.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan was unbeaten on 76 and Mohammad Hafeez was prominent in bowling with three wickets. League spinner Adil Rashid bowled four wickets for the English team while opener Jason Roy scored 64 off 36 balls.

At one stage, the victory of the English team in the match looked easy but due to the superb bowling of Hassan Ali and Mohammad Hafeez in the last overs, the Pakistan team came back in the match due to which the match was decided on the fourth ball of the last over.

Offensive batsman Jason Roy was named Man of the Match, and Liam Livingstone was named Man of the Series for his superb batting.

The defeat in England was a blow to Pakistan's preparations. After the ODIs, the failure in the T20 series also opened the floodgates of the Pakistan team's limited-overs cricket planning. Compared to the Green Shirts, the English team gave more players a chance. Changed the batting order and experimented with bowling and the fielding of English players was also perfect.

On the other hand, the Pakistan team, despite a series of setbacks in the ODI series, fielded the same final XI, and in the T20, too, gave preference to past performances over experiences. No one paid attention to the batting order, nor was the team selected under any planning.

In the third match, Pakistan relied on spinners rather than fast bowlers. Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled only one over in the match while Mohammad Hasnain was not bowled. In contrast, despite the presence of Mohammad Hafeez in the first two matches, only Shadab Khan and Emad Wasim bowled.

Babar Azam's record has been broken. When it comes to experiments, it is necessary to mention the change in the batting order. In the third match, the English team gave a chance to the batsmen whose batting is less, and when the time came, captain Owen Morgan came and played an aggressive inning.

On the other hand, Pakistan captain Babar Azam started the innings, but as soon as he was out, the rest of the players could not perform well.

With Hassan Ali in form, the captain sent out-of-form Muhammad Hafeez, Shadab Khan, and Emad Wasim to bat when Pakistan needed to score fast runs.

If Pakistan had scored 15-20 runs more at this stage, its grip on the match would have been stronger.

With the defeat in this series, captain Babar Azam's record of being unbeaten for 20 months was also broken.
